1420......... :( i was expecting to get 1500+ but the test was hard :( 800 math 620 verbal.... :( :( :( it was so freaking hard.....

obilisk18, i don't think you are right at all!!! I'd agree a 1350 isn't the greatest score, but at Dartmouth, i think Amnesia has a good chance. I think the SAT is just a dumb test to get our money and make us feel stupid!!!

1150 from the OCT 9 SAT I test... 540 verbal, 610 math. I have improved since when I first took it--in March of this year--but it is no where near where I want to end up. I'm waiting for March 2005 when there are no more analogies and quantitative comparions, thus hopefully making it more straightforward.

it will depend on your competition. Only .07% of the population that year can get a 1600. Usually 1 wrong can still get u a 800 on the math portion and 4 wrong on the verbal can get you a 800. However each additional problem wrong on the math would most likely take it down 20 points, but this depends on the pool of tesetes.

hmm i dont think obilisk..denys that amnesia has a good chance..i just think he/she is tryna say that theres never a GUARANTEE..thats goes for everybody..i think..and if oblisik..u didnt mean that..then u suck..hehe..

btw...in contrast to back then when i use to come on this site..sayy a couple of months heh..ppl were sooo rude and mean and soo ****y and anythin negative u can think of..they possessed..yet..u guys are soo diff now..

oops i didnt realize there was a curse w/i the word..soo arrogant..

Yup. My only point is that the phrase "I'm certain to get into Dartmouth" applies to a very select few in the population. I'm a URM and I believe I got a 1530+ on OCT SAT's (I'm one of the people who hasn't yet received their scores) and yet I wouldn't even dream of saying I'm certain to get into Dartmouth. I wish I was, but it's just not so. And I would say that it's fair to say that someone who receives a 1350, who doesn't fit into one of the "hook" categories of URM, Legacy, etc, can't be considered a guaranteed admit at Dartmouth. Sorry if I offended anyone.

I agree. No one's certain for any school when you think about it unless there's something in writing. You never know which school could turn you down for being overqualified or a school that might not like you as a candidate (reference to "safeties" and "matches").

1390 for me!! 610V and 780 M....it's not high but I can't seem to go higher on verbal....english is not my native......argghhh

lol wow. u people call these bad scores? there are people at my school that score 600 overall...

......................................................................... 600?? on math or verbal? I only scored a 600 on verbal :(

stupid smart ppl (lol, what an oxymoron). half of you guys dont even belong in this 3L!te club.

I think Shrek meant a 600 Total as in V+ M= 600 Together.

I just got my scores: 610 M, 630 V.

krazikamikaze was right, i meant that a 1490 and a 1600 are both considered in the 99% percentile, and, yes i know, they are not the same thing. they do represent the same level of performance, however.

hmm..thats true. but a 1600 does sound A LOT better..you know?..whether or not it really is.

I think that even Obilisk's statement that "I'm certain to get into Dartmouth applies to a very select few in the population." isn't 100% on the mark.

I believe there is no guarantee or certainty of admission for ANYONE at ANY Ivy, regardless of SAT scores, EC's or GPA.

Case in point, last year my school's valedictorian, SAT 1590, GPA 99.2, student council pres, senior class pres, editor of school newspaper, involved w/habitat for humanity since before entering high school, and a ****load of other impressive EC's, was turned down by his one and only Ivy choice -- Princeton. He went ED and was not even waitlisted.

His cousin, with decent but "not ivy" SAT of 1350, good GPA of 94.7, fair amount of EC's but none w/leadership positions -- was accepted by the same school. He did not opt for ED. Difference? (even the cousin believes the same) -- he is a top LaCrosse player, and was being recruited by alot of schools. I guess that's what Princeton was looking for last year too.

I'm not saying the ivy's are just looking for top athletes (though it sure doesn't hurt), but rather that the whole ivy admission process is just one big gamble.

So why not take a chance?

yo for real..a lot of you really arent in this group..how is it the ppl who say are in this group could even make you feel stupid..perfect....theres no escapin it on this site..heh
