wat are u talking about. why did u post those scores? lol. if we tell u that u have no chance will u not apply? if we tell u that u have an awesome chance will that change ur admissions decision? like any Ivy there are those that are excepted with 1600's or 2400's and there are those who are excepted with 1350's or 1950's. Now does it matter wat percent of who gets accepted? What do u care even if its one in a 1000, what if u were that 1, would u care that everyone else who was accepted had perfect scores? I know I could have cared less as long as i was accepted. Your scores arent great but they are no where near bad, they are normal to higher than normal. Your AP's are fine too, retaking the SAT is a good idea, but the most important thing is to apply so that even if u "dont" have a chance u still know that you applied and took whatever chance u had going for you.

P.S. sorry for the harangue, I dont mean to offend anyone in any way.

I like how your writing score is the same on both the new SAT and the SAT 2s. I think your GPA is good. Just work on getting the scores up. and besides, you, Sweetest Sith, and I are all submitting creative writing samples. So try not to worry too much. Are you really from Norway? That sounds pretty cool.

Yeah, I agree with Gregster. Maybe you don't have a perfect score, but you show enough competence to do the work with those scores. So, just present yourself in the best light possible and make sure your teacher recs show your passion for learning and creativity. I have a lower score than you (670M, 600V, 610W), but I'm still applying just to say "hey, I applied." If I get in, I'll be ecstatic. If not, oh well I'll just go to another school. Don't let other people tell you your "chances" as perfect scorers with 6.0 GPAs and laundry lists of ECs that are willing to donate a building get rejected.

i did NOT ask for my chances...I just asked how Princeton would view a decent set of certain standardized tests versus a lower set of SATs...both from collegeboard.

wat does it matter though? u'll find out exactly what they think of you and your scores in december (the 15th). Be patient, its only a month or so.

gregster, it might not matter to someone who already applied, but to a junior like me it matters the world. (not really, if i dont get in, ill live on)

Honestly. who knows? I had some pretty low SATs and average APs also, but I still applied ED and tried to make my app stand out. I think its bull**** when people on this board who probably have fake stats anyway try and judge.... sorry it really makes me mad. You have just a chance as anyone else, your app will get the same time as some child prodigy from Puerto Rico or something. lol.

U ppl place way to much value in those SATs
Most ppl at Pton do not have a 1600 (i'm of the old SAT generation)
its just a lie
the average is about 1480
You will see when the ED results come out and you will see these ppl saying "I got a perfect (or close to) and I didn't get in? Why?"
Its because the SAT does not carry as much weight as the rest of the application. It carries weight, but not the weight that the ppl on this board give it.

qwerti, I am technically from norway (norwegian citizen, born here, lived here for 15 years etc.) but im of indian ethnicity...

btw qwerti, I couldnt submit my CWr supplement :( too much editing and it was gonna be late anyway. I found out that if my app gets deferred, I can send it in for the RD round.

I totally agree with Paindillo about the whole "will I get in boards". I think they are more for pyschological release than for actually determining something. The people that post want to hear nice responses and the people that give nice responces feel good that they gave them. I really dont think you can determne whether someone will get in or not. Ofcourse if you have 1300 on the new SAT and a 65 avg, you shouldn't aim for Princeton, but no one can predict whether someone normal can get in. If Princeton had some standardized test like Cal Tech does for transfers than it would be different, we could offer advice maybe for study materials, but sadly it doesnt :).
