low senior year gpa?

Hi, I am currently a senior and I just got a report card from our school today, and it says that my gpa is 2.8. :(
I got a C on both AP Physics and AP Statistics, and I think that is why I got a low gpa.
I had 3.5 gpa in my junior year and does it look really bad if my senior grade dropped to 2.8?
I applied to Pennstate, University of Washington, UIUC, and Georgia Tech, and is there chance of them rejecting me because of my low senior gpa?

How would they know what your GPA is if you just found out today??

no i mean I’m worried if they will reject me in the future because of my low senior year gpa.

I’m still lost. Are you talking about a college accepting you and then later rescinding your admission? To my knowledge, it’s pretty hard to get your admission rescinded as long as you don’t start failing classes or robbing banks after school.

^ I don’t completely agree with that. I know at Georgia Tech even after they admit you they look at your senior grades. They do rescind some students if they don’t keep their grades up senior year. While I don’t know if 2 C’s would do it it would be best for you to put in a really good last semester.

AP Physics and AP Statistics are supposed to be college level courses. You are doing average…but if you want to g do well in college you need to figure out what you can do differently. Talk to your teacher and ask “How do students who are successful in this class study?” Go to your teachers office hours and ask questions. Figure out why you didn’t do well on the tests…did you not know the topic? know it but not how to apply it? Find out where you can get more practice problems.

All of those schools are competitive admits for OOS students. Clearly, you are not instate for three. Which one is is in your home state?

Some colleges do ask for mid year senior marks when evaluating admissions. I don’t know if these schools do…or not.

All of the schools my kids applied to looked at the midyear report senior year if they didn’t accept you EA. And they all reserve the right to rescind the acceptence if your grades aren’t in line with what they were when they accepted you.

Agree, which of these schools in your list is in-state for you and will it be a “sure admit” and the second comment is you need to do some serious soul searching because college is more difficult than high school so it just doesn’t get easier. Also agree with Mathmom, if you applied early admit to any of these schools and you are deferred most likely you will need to submit current senior year grades which brings me back to the first question, do you have an admit and financial safety school in your pocket?
