Hello! Today I just got my ssat score and my highest is 57%. Will, it hurt my chances into getting to the big schools like Middlesex, Phillips, and Concord. Idk why I’ve been getting low scores for the ssat the only reasoning is of pressure as I have aced my hspt (96%) and having good grades. I spoke with Concord yesterday, and they said that “ssat aren’t everything,” and they told me that recommendations and extracurriculars are the critical parts. My interviewer said my recommendations are stellar and I do taekwondo and Korean sword fighting since I was little also sports. But I still feel like my chances of getting in are 0.
The HSPT is easiest compared to the SSAT and ISEE so it would make sense to score higher in that exam compared to the other two.
There’s the February test. Both Exeter and Andover accept the test scores.
I get a rush of adrenaline whenever I take timed standardized testing so try to convert the pressure into adrenaline. It’s a thrilling feeling and makes the test a lot more fun.
I don’t think we can answer that for you. It’s on the lower end of kids and parents talking about scores on CC but most of us are not admissions officers.
If I were your parent I would be encouraging you to apply to more than just the most selective boarding schools in the country.
