Please advise me on this.
I got a 2220 overall on the SAT...which isn't bad for my first, but not as good as I was hoping it would be.
CR 800, Math 740, Writing 680
I'm really happy with the CR score and was actually pleasantly surprised that my math score wasn't lower, but my writing score really threw me off. On all of my practice tests (I took six or seven), I consistently scored higher on the writing than on the math, and usually got more in the range of 720-750 than 680. I've compared my scores to the colleges that I want to go to (UCLA, some Ivies, Duke, Georgetown) and my CR and math were always above or in the mid-50% range I believe...but my writing was usually lower than the mid-50% range.
I've heard that the CR and Math scores are taken more seriously than the writing score...but I've also heard that colleges are now starting to take the writing score more seriously.
My problem is that since math is so iffy for me, if I retake the SAT it'll probably be lower, even if my writing score ends up being higher. I'm not sure whether I'll see a significant change in my overall score or not...and I also have some anxiety issues so I'm going to end up obsessing over all of these factors more, second-guessing myself if I do take it...so on and so forth. Another thing I've heard about the writing section is that the essay is scored more on length than on actual content. That would be a problem for me, because my essays are consistently shorter than all of my classmates'. I also find all of the SAT essay topics to be extremely boring and hard to write a good essay on.
I'm going insane over this; please help me. Thanks in advance! (:

Ahhhhhh someone please help me!

I think you’re safe. A 2200+ is very good, and a 680, though low for your standards, is actually pretty good. I don’t think it’s necessary to retake, especially if you’re feeling unsure

See if any

See if any of the colleges that you want to go to super score. If so, you may want to reconsider taking it. If you don’t think you have enough time to study as much as you would like, then don’t retake it.

I have an okay amount of time to study. If I decide to retake it, I can probably make enough time, but it’s just that I’m unsure about the whole retaking process.

Can anyone tell me if it’s true that colleges don’t care so much about the writing score, especially those colleges that I want to go to?

Anyone???
