I am currently at a community college and trying to transfer to CSULB. I have more than enough units and at the end of this Fall semester will have a 3.2 (dismal I know). I was confused about the minimum GPA requirement for and Upper Division transfer into Long Beach as I am trying to get into their BFA program with an option in Illustration. It says on their site...

Art (BA in Art with Option in Studio Art and all Department of Art BFA options)

To be considered for upper-division admission to the BA in Art with Option in Studio Art or any of the Department of Art BFA options, applicants must demonstrate the following:

Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA for all courses in Art and Art History and must have completed the following lower-division courses or articulated equivalents each with a minimum grade of "C":
AH 111A
AH 111B
ART 130
ART 131
ART 181 or 184

Four General Education Foundations Courses:
Written Communication
Oral Communication
Critical Thinking
Mathematics

Applicants to BFA Options must also receive a positive recommendation following review of a portfolio submitted by the applicant. Contact department for details of portfolio submission and review process.
Eligible applicants will be selected for admission on a space-available basis based on cumulative grade point average with a minimum of 2.5

I have taken all of these lower-division courses with the exception of 3D Design (184) which is an "or" option to 2D Design... I worry because my total GPA for those classes is a 2.8... Does this mean I'm not acceptable? I was going to take 3D in the Spring, and Ace it for sure so my GPA would go back up to a 3.0...

Any comments on this?
