Lower-division transfer, How do my GEs transfer?

Does anyone know how to convert UCSC general education requirements to UCD. I’ve looked at the websites for both and they are extremely different. I’m not even sure who I can email at UCD to ask about this…

i believe that if u complete ur GE req at ucsc, then u have completed the GE reqs at any UC that u transfer to. so even tho theyre not equivalent, u would still have fulfilled the GE reqs at ucd if u fulfill ur reqs at ucsc.

idk how it works if ur not done with ur GE’s tho. i highly suggest u email an advisor at ucsc, theyre there to help.

I’m transferring from UC San Diego to UC Davis in Fall of 2009.

The UC System has something called “UC Reciprocity” - basically, if you complete the GE requirements at one school, the requirements at your new school are waived. I completed my UCSD GE requirements, so I’m exempt from the GE’s at Davis. I believe all of the classes will transfer over to Davis… same GPA, same courses on my transcript, all of that.

the thing is, I’m a lower-division transfer, meaning I have not completed all of my GEs and am a freshman.

Can you complete your GE’s before transferring? According to everything I’ve heard, you can’t transfer until your Junior year… so you have your entire Sophomore year to finish your GE’s
