mochafrop02,
I have only gone to MVHS for the past year and 1/2 (thank god! people have no life here). did you go to UCLA directly or through CCC? You actually find UCLA less stressful?

i actually went directly to UCLA. it isn't necessarily less stressful, but it's just about what you've taken from your experience at MV. if MV taught you how to study well (thank you mr birdsong), then UCLA won't seem that bad at all.

and eh, i don't think it's fair to categorize MV people as not having lives... i know i most definitely cherish all the experiences/memories/friends i've made there.

i barely had a 3.8 UC gpa. stop worrying about it. you have NO control over the process now so just enjoy senior year while you still have it.

monta vista ain't that bad you just have hang with the right people... haha goodluck with UCLA everyone

One athlete I know of had a SAT score you people would laugh at if I told you during the time he was offered a scholarship here. I can't say it, but if you added up his reading and math (only ones that matter for NCAA standards), I assure you it was much lower than what pretty much any of you did on just one of those. Since then he was able to raise it to an acceptable level (which at UCLA athletics it depends, but > 800) and get accepted here for next year.

For the record though, athletes are special cases and most of them actually do fairly well in school (despite usually not having the type of scores others have coming in). The weirdest case I know personally know doesn't involve an actual score. One girl I knew since freshman year actually got into UCLA (and is still here) despite just not taking one of the requisite SAT II tests. I believe it was for English. But still, ***?

I know a football player who got in with a 2.8 and less than 900 on the SAT. USC’s admission standards are downright hilarious. I know a guy on the football team who struggled to bring his GPA up to a 2.0 and had less than 800 on the SAT.

lol interesting posts but very little of them respond to my question. lol, anyone else have any thing to add?

im gonna guess a 3.5-3.6

does anyone know how UCLA weighs people who have been sick?(i had cancer junior year and therefore lack of AP courses and low SAT) i have somehwere around a 4.1 UC GPA. Great essays, lots of EC's.

The anxiety is killing me, :/. Whatver, I already got into a pretty good college(UDubb).

I got in with only a weighted GPA of 4.0.

That's not too bad....

that gives me a lot of hope!

i believe i had a weighted gpa of 3.83, UW somewhere around 3.5...

hahaha, don't we all need a self-esteem booster?

No.

I'm glad you're stressed 0ut though. :)

3.67 sociology major chance? pre-req 1 missing. Transfer studnet!

probably an easy in.

3.67 is pretty on par/upper average for soc transfer.

my friend got into ucla engineering with like a 3.7 UC GPA but his SAT was 2300.

allie- eventhough, im missing 1 pre-req course?

yes. usually it should be fine. depends on the applicant pool but i wouldn't worry about it too much.
