What'd you think are the lowest stats for someone accepted at Harvard, Yale, or Princeton? That means SATs, ACTs, GPA, Extracurriculars, Teacher Recs. Just curious about personal stories...

Teach Recs:

179/213

ECs:

58/106

There's a book out now that details something like 50 people who got into Harvard. One athlete had a 2.75 GPA.

I knew a guy in high school who went to Harvard. His SATs were less than 1200 out of a possible 1600. He told me he got in because his parents were immigrants from Italy, and he grew up in a a very traditional household (made their own wine, etc.). He was a hard worker and had good grades, but was not particularly brilliant AT ALL. The admissions folks at Harvard apparently thought he would bring a quaint, Old World feeling to the school.

If you can identify something odd about yourself, even if it is not academically related (got your arm bitten off by a shark, rode across Nigeria on a bicycle--backwards, AND you're a guy who got stalked by k.d. lang) it seems to help a lot.

Looked at your stats, you have a chance if you are the coaches top choice. Track isn't an influential sport at H.
