Loyola Marymount University

Hi I am trying to apply to LMU for Fall 2013 as a transfer student from a JC, and I am still quite confused with the whole applying to a private college process, it is greatly appreciated if someone can clarify and help me.

My questions are:
1) how do I send in my transcripts, does it have to be official or something or can I print it out online from my school and then mail it in myself? Or can i request my school to do this?

2) I know for transfer students it is optional for letter of recommendations, but I asked one of my professors to write me a letter of rec. When is this supposed to be mailed in? Together with the transcript or separate?

Any help is truly greatly appreciated, thank you!

This website is your friend:

1) You must send an official transcript. You must request/order a copy from your school.
2) It is mailed in separately and must be postmarked by the deadline. (February 1 or March 15–whichever deadline you are trying to meet)

when i request and order a copy from my school do they mail it in for me? or do I do that myself?

Official copies usually come (mailed) from the school.

It depends on your school. Some schools require that they mail it for your, some require that you pick it up and mail it yourself, and some give you the option. Check with your school. But, as Shrinkrap said, usually schools mail them directly.

oh okay, thank you both so so so much!!!
