I got admitted to Loyola Marymount for business and waiting on chapman.. I can't decide between the schools! Which schools better?? Overall and everything

This is such a personal decision. Both are excellent school. “Better” is very subjective. My son was admitted to both schools also and chose Chapman, but he has a close friend who was in the same situation and chose Loyola Marymount. Friend is a devout Catholic and the religious feeling and prominent church at LMU was important to her. My advise: visit both in person, talk with current students in your intended major, stay overnight if possible.

Hi! I actually attend chapman right now. And im applying to transfer to LMU. its really up to the individual.

@camchristain What are the major differences between LMU and Chapman as you see them? You obviously feel they are different.

The major differences to me are that lmu is little bigger and just a bit more diverse student body wise, and then lmu’s campus is A LOT bigger than chapmans. you can practically walk across chapman entire campus in 5-10 min. Socially there’s definitely a bit more going on at LMU i have a few friends there that have told me about it. It’s closer to LA so internships are easier to get. Honestly, otherwise a lot of it is the same academics, greek life, so on. Hope that’s somewhat helpful.

You MUST visit both and meet with students and faculty. You can attend classes, etc. The only way to know is to spend time AT both. That said, my youngest son transferred from Boston College to LMU this past fall after his freshman year at BC because LMU’s film program was far superior to BC’s. Half a year in, he said it was the best decision he ever made. His comments: top flight professors, 100% friendly students, beautiful housing & excellent and aggressive intern placement office.

op, are you here? FA is a factor, can you afford either. As expensive as they are, they are worth a visit to see what you are getting into. Laplatinum is right, you really need to visit as they are fairly different in their vibe. LMU is a little larger, but it’s still 15 minutes max from one end to the other. Catholic but Jesuit, more diverse, closer to the beach and LA but still suburban. Both will give you a good education if you work for it. Chapman is Orange County, close to Disney, whiter and more conservative. In the big picture, more alike than either would like to admit.
