Ok, so I got into LSP... after originally applying to CAS... and now I am seriously considering NYU after taking a tour.. however I was wondering if it is possible to internally transfer from the Liberal Studies Program into Tisch. I am guaranteed admission to CAS after I complete LSP at the end of my sophomore year. However, I know that anyone who originally applied to Tisch but got LSP is only in LSP for one year instead of two. Is it possible during my Freshman year to apply for a transfer into Tisch for my sophomore year? If yes, when would I start this process? As soon as the schoolyear begins this fall? Or next Spring, towards the end of my freshman year (in LSP)? Also, how difficult is it to do an internal transfer? Easier than being admitted as a high school applicant, more difficult, or what? Any information would help me.... my decision to go to NYU really hinges on my ability to explore other opportunities... especially now as my interest no longer lies in CAS.

Ok so here what I know. I know that you can transfer to another school if you were admitted LSP but as you were admitted into LSP you cannot transfer until you complete the LSP program. At the end of your sophomore year after completing the program you can tranfer into Tish if you so choose but only after you complete LSP. The only school that you cannot transfer into from LSP is Stern because of it’s high retention rate.

^ you cant transfer from LSP to Stern? Is there a rule against it? Or is it just too difficult to do so?

No it’s a rule because the retention rate is so high. Stern has a 97% retention rate. So they just made it a rule that LSPer’s cannot transfer into stern. Even for transfer students from different schools Stern is near impossible to get into.

So everyone else(external and internal students) can at least attempt to transfer into Stern but LSPers? That’s is sad.

97% isn’t true. where did you get that statistics from?
