Just wondering if you would be comfortable sharing how much need based aid you received? You donā€™t have to if you donā€™t want to! Iā€™m just nervous right now because its hard to decide on a college when I still donā€™t have financial aid info laid out

I just looked again, and found no need-base scholarships. All details are listed below and the very last column is the annual amount.

Award Name Summer 2021 Amount Fall 2021 Amount Spring 2022 Amount Annual Amount
Flagship Scholars Resident $ $2,000 $2,000 $4,000
Louisiana Tiger Legacy Excellence Scholarship $ $500 $500 $1,000
Presidentā€™s Student Aid Job $ $775 $775 $1,550
Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loan $ $2,750 $2,750 $5,500
Direct Parent Plus Loan $ $7,640 $7,640 $15,280
Anticipated TOPS Award $ $4,132 $4,131 $8,263

I am in a similar situation. They requested a financial form (the last week in March) and I submitted it Monday. My portal is showing it is processed, and I know a few people who have received their need based aid. I just wish they had asked for the form earlier and provide students with their full financial packages a bit sooner

We received a formal paper brochure today about the financial package, and I think that is it. No more money.

Question for other parents.

Anyone have concerns with LSU

Recent lawsuit against athletic department
Dept of education opening an investigation
Missing freshman
2 female students stabbed yesterday I believe

I know other schools are not immune just curious if anyone has any thoughts.

The state universities are so big that bad/weird things do happen (case number-wise) more than smaller private colleges. However, percentage-wise it is not necessary more than private ones.

I have been living in Baton Rouge for 21 years. Overall, LSU areas are safe (recommend to stay on the south side of campus). Also try not to be alone after dark if possible, which is essentially important to any college. Making more friends and staying in group is your best weapon to defend.

No concerns with those allegations. It makes good headlines but that is it. Family members are there and not having issues and S will probably be there next year if the awards are good.
