LSU question

How is the political science department/pre-law program at LSU? Also, any comments about the school in general would be appreciated. I like what I've read about it, but I've never been there, so any information at all about the school would be most helpful.

I don't know about the LSU Programs. But if you are from out-of-state, there is a thick layer of racial tension on campus and in the surrounding areas. The city of Baton Rouge is practically segregated.

yea my sister goes to lsu (shes black) and the other poster is right about the racial tension.. i personally hate lsu, but im a midwest kid so i hate basically everything south of kentucky and west of florida

I'm from Texas, and I went to Southern Univ. in Baton Rouge, which is an HBCU. For presidential elections, our school got TWO, TWO voting booths for over 17,000 students, faculty and people around the univ. (mainly black) to vote at. While LSU, got close to 10-14 booths. I understand that they have a bigger univ. but 14 to our 2. I was born in Louisiana, and I have Louisiana blood flowing through my veins, but I can't live in Louisiana. My mom raised us in Texas because she didn't want us to go to school in Louisiana, because of this. I went for undergrad out of rebellion (I was a teen.), but next time I will listen. Right now, they are having protests at LSU because they wave confederate flags in LSU colors at the football games, supposedly "supporting" the team, which is majority black. It's crazy. The whole city is crazy.

Thanks for the responses, I appreciate them. Any others?
