LSU vs. U. of Alabama

I am trying to figure out which school is the better fit for me, LSU or University of Alabama. Both of them have many qualities that I am looking for in a school, but there are a few things I am not sure if they have. Do either of these schools have outdoor recreation programs, such as guided hiking trips? Which city has better weather (less humidity, less rain)? Which school has friendlier people, nicer housing? Which school has better eating options for vegetarians or just healthier food in general? Finally, which school has a better music scene? Thank you to those who help me out!

you might want to post these questions to the specific forums for LSA and Alabama. You will probably get more responses!

I thought this thread was going to be about the game of the century.

Alabama is the higher ranked school…Bama is ranked #75, while LSU is ranked #128.

Bama is the much better looking campus. Bama is meticulously maintained. LSU always looks messy…always. I’ve been on LSU’s campus 7 times in the last 4 months.

Bama’s student rec center has organized hiking and biking and other trips.

*

Bama’s weather is better. Bama is usually sunny blue skies and fluffy white clouds.

*

Both have friendly people. Bama has amazing housing options. I’ve been in one of LSU’s dorm complexes and it was nice but had open corridors, don’t know how the rest is.

This may be a toss up, not sure.

*

Certainly LSU’s area is going to have a better jazz scene. Tuscaloosa has a brand new Outdoor Amphitheater that brings in nat’l music talents.

LSU has a much lower % of out of state students. LSU has a 72% admit rate. Bama has a 54% admit rate.

Visit the schools…it will be a no-brainer after that.

Go to the school that just took the smile off the faces of those bragging Alabama fans.

A couple weeks ago, they were attacking and insulting poor innocent Gators.

Now, they are much much quieter on CC.

As Churchill once said “Magnamity in Victory----Always”

I would say Alabama for all the criteria you selected except for music scene. (Its Louisiana, of course they have a HUGE music scene!) When I went to Alabama the student body seemed really active and healthy for the most part. Also, the academics at Alabama are really on the rise. I’m not too sure about LSU though.
Either way, both schools seem like a lot of fun!

Just thought I’d offer up some detail on the LSU campus since I lived near there for a while. There are some nice newer dorms and such that are really nice. I did see a lot of fliers for music acts and other similar events almost constantly. It’s very humid, but the main rain comes during the summer and the hurricanes/tropical storms (but some years pass without any). There are very nice people there. I can’t really speak for the food sorry.
