Luck or Skill

On the April exam I missed 12 questions and omitted 2 on the Math portion.

I just took an online CollegeBoard SAT test. I missed 5 and omitted 0.

Am I naturally getting better or am I getting lucky that I can answer the questions presented?

Thanks!

What kind of question is that?
Well, maybe you got lucky. IDK
Maybe your getting better.
Someone could perform a Stat test on this to prove significance, but I'm too lazy to.

The sad thing is that I know what a significance test is (p-value)....I was in Stats, but still! :)

Neither... it's KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE (okay, maybe we can call it skill) ... a difference of 9 questions is a pretty big margin for luck if you ask me.

i'd say you improved . good job .

the collegeboard practice test online isn't right. i hit 690 on the math and ended up with a 790 on the real thing.

that only further proves the fact that he improved ..lol

Thanks for the support guys!

[STRIKE]Good math score[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Good writing score[/STRIKE]
Good critical reading score

^ I have to tackle that beast next! :-DDD

Thanks again!

I'd say both. Not that I doubt your improvement was not wholly from your diligent and consistent hard work, but it's just that it seems like too big of an improvement to be skill alone.

So maybe you took a practice test that was easier or somehow easier to YOU, and you also had great concentration, and you mastered some new skills since the your April test.

But anyhow, don't let my opinions in any way take away from your rejoicing!
An improvement is an improvement.... no matter how you do it (well don't cheat lol).

Good luck on your next test.

where do u go to take the prac test online?

I'm subscribed to the online SAT Collegeboard thingy.

your p-value is .02294

yeah is it me or is that online pretest really difficult?

I didn't take the pretest though
