LUMS second round of admission

Hi. Wanted to know what score is required for LUMS second round of admission. I’d also like to know if anyone got in. THta is after they get their result

SAT Score you mean?
it totally depends on your OLevel and AS grades.

and the second round hasnt been released yet, Im guessing this friday night is when they will come out.

Why would it depend on my O level and A level grades?

@am291x I think it doesn’t TOTALLY depend on O-level and AS grades. SAT, personal statement and the overall background of the applicant counts a lot, or so I heard.

@securedprofile people who got in with 1600 SAT’s, into schools other than SSE. How do you think their eligibility was determined? :stuck_out_tongue:
a friend with 1700 on SAT got into SDSB, his O’L and AS grades were good, only because of them…
Thus my deduction.
This once more focus is on the grades than SAT. but yeah, SAT does count as such, not a lot though.

and traditionally. you cant call admission into Pakistani Universities holistic. The Personal Statement and extra curriculars, unless you were a book worm with nothing to your name and then ended up making a fool of yourself in the essay, it wont really hurt your chances.
a friend with ZERO extra-curriculars got in the first round, so you can imagine…

Okay so I got one A* and 4 As in my O levels. 3 Bs too. Other than that I got an A, a B and a C in my A levels. My personal statement was good. I think. Other than that I am an international netball player. And have represented Sindh and Pakistan and my school too. Got numerous awards and certificates over it. I even went to lums once to play.
I’ve been Head Girl of my school and became prefect two times. Did an internship too.

In your opinion what SAT score should I get for lums to consider me? I’m eligible for second round of admission because I gave my SAT’s in May sadly.

@Shumama if I was in the admissions committee I would take you at 1750+. sadly, Im not. so hope for the best. InshAllah =D

I am hoping that somone in the admission board would think the same as you. :stuck_out_tongue:

@Shumama Your extra curricular activities are very impressive!

@RT1326 Thankss. I’m hoping lums would well consider me for my extra curricular activities because my grades are not that good.

I got a 2070 on the SAT
6As,2As in olevel, 2As,1A in alevel. I also took a gap year and i think that might hurt my chances.
As for extra-curriculars i was in the council in high school. took part in essay writings and social work but nothing international or very notable
Do you guys think i’ve a chance?

You have amazing grades man. Gap year shouldn’t effect chances. @nothopeful see you in LUMS (if I get in ;))

@securedprofile hope so.
does lums send you an email or snail mail or do i have to keep checking the website.

@nothopeful I haven’t been accepted yet but my friend who got accepted had received an email. So check your email daily and to be on the safe side check the website weekly.

@nothopeful You have great chances so dont worry. And LUMS updates your portal online and then you get their mail after 2 3 days

thanks for the help guys

Hi guys.I had 5A*'s,3A’s and 1c in Edexcel.4 straight A’s in A1 and 1910 SAT-1 score.1st preference was of ACF and 2nd Engineering. My SSE test was okayish.I’m so depressed that i haven’t got in yet neither in 1st round and now my friends who had less SAT-1 and grades are getting in and i am still yet to get decision in 2nd round…

I personally feel that LUMS places a lot of importance on O Level and AS grades. SAT comes secondary to that. The personal statement and extracurricular activities don’t matter at all. Also since this is the first year with the SAT being made compulsory so they may take kids with low scores. From the next academic year I think the SAT score will matter as much as the grades.

Do you guys know if the 2nd round decisions are over or are decisions still coming??

@Ali163 I called lums today. They’ll start sending acceptances to students who’ll be eligible for the second round in June. Since we just got our results.
