Luring me in with huge offer only to take it back?

I recently returned from spring vacation to find out about U Chicago. Delightfully I had been accepted. The real shock came to me when I saw that U Chicago had offered me 14k in grants to cover the gap in EFC...surprising because my other schools (See: Berkeley, Michigan) had generally offered extremely anemic financial aid(Read:Work study). My question is if Chicago known for generous financial aid, and More importantly, if they are known for giving away freely freshman year only to substantially reduce it sophomore year to attract students.

Chicago is not known for having particularly generous financial aid. I have not heard about them dramatically reducing aid without a dramatic change in financial situation.

Congratulations!

Thanx
I'm kinda concerned they made a horrible mistake and put some other person's W2 in my file or something lol

Even if they did, they aren't going to come back and retract their offer if you have already accepted them as your choice.

So, Congratulations!

Congrats too! You should definitely join us, since you're getting so much money. And Chicago is ranked higher than Berkeley and Michigan in the first place, lol.

36k grant.... ;D

From first year to second year, our income went up a little, tuition increased, but grant aid also increased. I think they are being straight with you.

Dahlia-
