Lyceum Scholars Program

Hey everyone! I’m just wondering if anyone or anyone’s children have heard back about Clemson’s Lyceum Program. I applied in December and haven’t heard anything yet. I know they extended their deadline as well, but I’m not sure if that will play a factor or not.

My daughter received an email invitation for the interview on Thursday.

My son received an email invitation on Tuesday and did the Skype interview on Friday already.

I called and was told that they have not made any decisions yet, and will announce “sometime in March”

Just an FYI - my son is in this program. It can sometimes take awhile for decisions to come out as the interview process takes a lot of time. Sometimes they offer a student a place in the program and then they have announced they selected another college so they go back to interviews. They are very diligent in the selection process. Be patient is my best advice!

So if I haven’t been asked for an interview by now should I just assume I’ve already been rejected?

@Alpark1 - I believe the last interviews (that I am aware of) were conducted on March 3rd. My daughter had her interview on February 11th and we are still waiting to hear back about whether she made it into the program or not.

@Alpark1 You could email or call and ask. Just because they have completed all interviews, doesn’t mean they have said a no to all other applicants. For example, they could have one of the students already interviewed select a different college and then they will move on and interview another. A few years back, there were two Lyceum scholars selected in August after two others decided to attend elsewhere.

My son has been accepted into the program-He wants to double major in economics and finance. Do you think he would have time to do that being in Lyceum and the Honors College? He is coming in with DE credits (42).

Have you heard back yet?

Have you heard back?

Yes for sure

Yes. With the DE credits he should be just fine to do that. Congrats!

Hi,
I have just been told that I have been waitlisted. Do you have any idea how common it is for someone on the waitlist to make it into the program (ie. do most Lyceum scholars accept the scholarship and attend Clemson)?

There have been quite a few people oos who have been accepted to Lyceum that are waiting for financials. I imagine some will not attend and there will be open spots. Don’t lose hope!
