I am by no means saying that I lied lol, I don’t think I’d be able to do something risky like that. But it’s moreso I’m confused over the status of one of my extracurriculars and what I should put in for that. I am a senior who has been in science olympiad all four years of high school. The thing is, my team doesn’t really have any captains yet (we have cocaptains usually). I asked our coach and she said that it doesn’t really matter anyway so I should just do whatever. One of my friends who is also a senior was like “Oh, I already put on my college app that I’m a cocaptain”… and my coach didn’t really care at all. So would it be bad if I said I am, too for senior year? If not, then ok! I will not put that in my extracurriculars. It just seems like the title is sorta hazy.
You are either lying or not lying. Can’t be “sorta”. Doesn’t really matter what the coach says. You live with the decision and the outcome.
@NorthernMom61 But I don’t want to lie. I haven’t submitted any app yet saying that I am the cocaptain and I don’t plan to do anything I consider unfair. My coach will not tell me if we’re doing positions this year and it’s aggravating because I’ll have to submit soon.
It’s probably not going to be a game changer one way or the other. If you are pretty sure you will be co-captain then you aren’t lying.
No one cares if you are the captain. Many kids who are captains of something for senior year don’t know that yet when sending in applications. It’s November and you still don’t know, so you have to go with what you know - you are a team member.
@twoinanddone Awesome! Thanks for the definite answer. Will not be putting it down. Thank you, again
