Lynchburg?!?

I must say that Lynchburg College has the most atrocious name I have ever heard. It is simply terrible- what horrible connotations! :(

It was named after Steven Lynch. What's the problem?

Is there honestly a point to this post? What immaturity one must have to dislike a school just because of the name of it...

i was just curious. Did anyone get lynched there in the past before the civil rights movement?

yes all the time:(

no i really don't know--and i was kidding

....nice to see this post revived....
blah

Actually, it was named after John Lynch, the man who started the first ferry service across the James River.

no one was ever lynched, there have been very few, if any, racial crimes in lynchburg over the past 100 years. it's been the home to anne spencer and has been visited by many famous african americans because of that (langston hughes, martin luther king jr, etc)

Haha I just moved to Lynchburg a year and a half ago and everybody from my home town (Tampa, FL) claimed me of moving to a racist town.

Anyway, I took a course at Lynchburg College last year and it was...interesting...

DAN,

Why was the course..."interesting". I may apply here.

Well we had this crazy professor from Belgium who would rant on and on about society and very rarely talk about French. There were only three of us in the class and we all thought he was crazy. But he was only temporary as the other guy was on leave for a year. So go ahead and apply.

LC keeps beer away from campus.

If you want beer restriction. Go to Liberty University, also in Lynchburg. It's run by televangelist Jerry Falwell and they forbid alcohol consumption of any kind, punishable by expulsion. Other restrictions for which students must pay fines: loud or obscene music, being in the opposite sex's section of the dorm, watching R rated movies, and "immoral behavior." I like to call it Nazi U

The Bull Branch was full of Liberty students.

Who would ever go to Liberty University? They are not even accredited; yet the campus is HUGE! I heard that freshmen kids at Liberty take nothing but Bible classes for their first year, and many Bible classes their second year.

Actually LU is fully accredited and no, only religion majors would be taking that many bible classes. Generally it is one per semester.
