M. Arch - University of Cincinnati vs. University of Kansas vs. UNCC

I am deciding whether to attend University of Cincinnati (4yr), University of Kansas (KU, 3+yr), or University of North Carolina - Charlotte (UNCC, 3+yr) for a M. Arch. I'd appreciate views on the programs (e.g. negatives and positives).

I’d really like some feedback guys.

Thanks.

I know UC by reputation. It offers a unique coop program, but I have not interviewed any recent graduates to judge the quality of the work.

I have heard good things about UNCC, but in my mind it has always been overshadowed by both Clemson and NC State.

I am a but biased towards KU. I have a son there and we have hired five graduates from KU over the last three years. The graduates have been uniformly well prepared with strong portfolios and good Revit skills. In this part of the country I would rank the program with Rice and UT Austin as the top programs that we see. It is also one of the more reasonably priced schools around.

DD1 toured UC DAAP a while back for MArch in a couple years (start early :)). Her takeaway was that DAAP is basically its own country, pretty large program, so those used to smaller programs may take some time to acclimate. Excellent facilities, good rankings, co-op, etc. It is her #1 choice for now.

She has not toured KU yet but location is a bit too far. Ditto Rick’s comments, and price wise. Clemson is also a good deal for OOS.

Thanks all.
