M.I.T. Chances

Hello all, I am a high school sophomore with a high interest in M.I.T., I'm sure you have all heard this all before so I will just get right to my stats.

Average:
UW=97.5
W=105

AP's Will Be Taking:
APES
WHAP
APUS
APCHEM
APBIO
AP PHYSICS
AP ITALIAN
APCALC
APLAC
APLIT
APGOV

Haven't taken the SAT yet but will take PSAT in October and SAT in March

Extracurriculars:
Intern at Congressman's Office (can get personal letter of rec as I have been there for over a year)
Research Assistant at a renown researcher's lab lined up over this summer
Possibility of starting my own research project for INTEL, Siemens, etc.
This would be on neurology and likely research into Neural Constrates of Consciousness
President of my Grades's Stud. Gov. since Freshman year
Teaching myself Java

I feel my big draw would be the science research part. I know MIT is a long shot for everyone but I would like some feedback. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

We can’t really chance you unless you have hard stats. Hypothetical situations will lead to hypothetical chances.

Only do things that you enjoy doing. Good luck.

a reach for you just like it’s for everyone else. As you have time, I’d suggest investing yourself in about 4-5 EC’s and attempting to gain top leadership positions there, and try to include some humanities. Doing research will look good and try to get intel this year so you can use it on applications ( i believe it comes out after applications are due for college). you’re on the right path, but you need EC’s and research to increase your chances. Good luck.

It is always a possibility. Don’t squander this summer because a good rec letter is a bonus. Your scores will be a determining factor, but without any basis, it’s impossible to predict. Ask later when you have scores.
