M & T Decision

Did those of you who applied to the M&T program get a definite yes or no decision? DS was accepted to Wharton but there was no mention of M&T at all in his decision letter. Of course he assumes he was rejected but it is odd that his M&T status was just ignored.

I feel like they didn’t include the M&T decision to not take away from the joy of being accepted to Wharton.

I also applied to M&T (rejected) with SEAS (accepted) as my alternate. Since they only consider you for your alternate if you don’t get into M&T, getting accepted to it basically means rejected from M&T. But congratulations to DS for getting into Wharton! It’s an amazing school, and as stated above, I think they didn’t want to take away from the joy of being accepted.

My guess is that when M & T acceptances are decided, and a candidate has been rejected, the application is inserted into the candidate group of the alternate selection in such a way that they don’t know that you have already been rejected by M & T. Then when the candidate is accepted to SEAS or Wharton, they don’t mention it in your acceptance, because they are not aware of it.

It is still possible to reapply to M & T at the end of your first year, by the way.

Thanks for your replies @johannbach, @OrchidBloom, and @Much2learn! You were very helpful
