MAC vs PC

Hi, I know that I have asked this before, but now I am undecided. My D will be a freshman business major. She needs a new computer and really wants a Mac. Other business students she knows at Tulane have Macs and say it is "no problem", but I am not computer savvy and I won't be able to help her with this. Could someone who is computer literate please look at this document from Tulane and let me know what you think:

Thanks!

I think that “parallels” is the way to go, but what is “CDWG”?

Just get a PC. Macs are outrageously expensive and don’t offer much for most students, especially if you’re just going to have to run Windows alongside Mac OS in order to use the programs required by the business school. The only thing Macs are generally considered better for than PCs is like multimedia design stuff, video and audio editing, etc. You can get a much better PC for the same price you’d have to pay for a lower-end Mac.

If it doesn’t break the bank, people should feel comfortable getting whatever they want.

I got a macbook pro for school next year and I couldn’t be happier with it. Nevertheless, I suggest a PC for the business school. It’d just be a lot less of a hassle.
