Which one would be better for college?

PC, it's what I'm used to as is the rest of the world. MS Excel, Word, & PP are programs you'll use for the rest of your life in the work world. Knowing this programs is a huge advantage. I think PC's are good for graphics programs, but i don't use them so i wouldn't know.

go click on search and find one of the other 2 million threads on this exact topic.

I'd say go with the mac. I love mine (but I'm in HS) and everybody that I have met who have gotten a mac for college have liked it. Also, i think that a decent percentage of students use macs. You should def look into it if you want to do anything with science or art, and if you are an English major they can word process to. The software disadvantage is really only if you are a PC gamer and I don't think thats an issue because if you were you wouldnt even be considering a mac.

do what Icarus said. Go to the college life thread, and just find the mac v pc thread.

Macs are good in a way because they're just...virus repellents. Who makes a virus for macs anyway? :P

PCs are used by the rest of the world and I like the interface more than Macs. I also think PCs are faster, but who knows, maybe the Macs I use are just really really slow...

I think it's a matter of personal preference. Either one will do exactly what you need it to do. I for one am more comfortable with a PC, for a lot of reasons that I don't feel like going into.

Macs are not virus repellants--no one cares about them enough to make a virus. The Windows operating system has almost 94% of the market share. I don't think most computer nerds want to waste their time on a virus that can, at best, affect around 6% of computer users.
