Macaulay Honors College of CUNY Lehman

Hey Everyone,

I'm very interested in the CUNY Lehman Macaulay Honors College.

I was hoping that I could get an idea of what stats could basically guarantee me admission into the Macaulay Honors College of CUNY Lehman. I would be applying early decision.

Although I am only a sophomore in high school, I have done a lot of research and know that this is my first choice school. I am planning on majoring in Speech and Language Pathology (which is limiting for choosing schools), and I want to stay somewhat near home. I live in NJ (I don't know if this would be a factor for my chances of getting into MHC Lehman).

Anyways, I am hoping to end up with an overall weighted GPA of 4.0. I have good extra curricular, a lot of volunteer hours, and I am hoping to be leading the club Project Interact next year. I also have had a summer job since I was in 7th grade, and I am hoping to be doing an internship at a local hospital this summer.

I believe I should get at least a 1250 on the SAT (critical reading and math).

First of all, is this enough to get into MHC Lehman? If not, what needs to improve? Also, if it’s probably enough, what should I increase to almost guarantee admission when applying early decision?

Thank you!

Also, any information having to do with CUNY Lehman's Macaulay Honors Program would be appreciated.

Trust me on this one - where you want to go college from now (as a sophomore) to a senior is going to change many times! Stop worrying about one particular school and just concentrate on building your grades, scores, and ec's. You are a sophomore, for goodness' sake!

Yes I do realize this. If it changes, it changes. That's fine. But right now I would like learn information about this particular school. By researching different schools, I am in no way hurting myself.

Since I want to major in Speech and Language Pathology, AND not go to far from home, my options are fairly limited. I have looked into all of the schools that have my major and are in the area, and all of them are 3rd tier or lower other than NYU (which I could not afford even if I could get in). I realize that the tier does not mean everything, but I would like to go to the best school that I can (I am very focused on my academnics). So different honors colleges are really a good option for me. This is the honors college that I am most interested in as of now. So I want to learn as much information on it as possible.

Is this a bad thing? I personally don't believe so. I know I don't actually have to make a decision until senior year. But learning about different schools can only help me. So I would appreciate it if some people could give me some of the information that I requested.

Thank you!
