Mail from Princeton University

Hey guys,

a few days ago, I got a mail from Princeton University-

Dear XXXXXXX,

The Dean of Admission and I are interested in providing you more information about the opportunities available at Princeton University.

If you would like to reply now, please click here.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Logan Powell
Director of Admission
Princeton University
Box 430
Princeton, NJ 08542-0430

I received your e-mail address from the Student Search Service of the College Board. If you do not want to receive e-mail from Princeton University, please let me know.

I clicked there and got subscribed to the mailing list- does this mean I have a better chance of getting in? I've only received a reply thanking me for subscribing to their list, but no further information.

Could anyone bring some light on this issue?

Thanks in advance

I got the same mail. Means nothing. They’re probably sending similar mails to everybody with college board profiles.

Is this your first unsolicited contact from a college? If so, get used to it – and it means exactly nothing in terms of your chances for admission. Tell your mailman to wear a back brace for the next year though.

Mass mailing. It gets sent to everyone.

Yep. It’s called college spam and nearly everyone gets it. Prepare to be flooded with a mass of emails and letters that rave about how amazing you are
