I was thinking of ordering a macbook for myself (finally gathered some money to get one). I was wondering how reliable mail services is with a item so expensive. And they have to sign if its signature required right? Or do i have to go there to get it, etc?
Also, my dad is paying with his CC so it will be in his name, but I am going to pay him when I get back later. That won't affect me getting it right? They won't care about the name or anything right?

If you want to use Rutgers mail service, you have to use the name that is on your Rutgers student card. Otherwise, the item will be put on hold.

Rutgers mail service is very reliable, but if I were you, I would personally prefer to have your Macbook be delivered to your house. When it arrives, your dad can bring it to you on campus. Using Rutgers mail service takes about 2 extra days to process your item after it actually arrives at Rutgers.

I see. I’ll see if its possible. The thing is that my dads on a business trip so I don’t know if he can deliver it (unless I can wait 3-4 weeks, but I’d rather get it sooner than that haha) and my mom is out of country to visit family as well Otherwise, I won’t even hesitate to deliver it home. I don’t mind waiting a couple extra days. And why do they put a item on hold if its not your name on it (like can I explain that my dad paid for it and its his name, etc).

Yeah…they do that, and I had to learn the hard way. I tried to use my nickname as well, but my item was put on hold. After 5 days of waiting, I spoke to one of the mailmen at the counter, and he said I was supposed to use my real name that matches my RUID. I guess it’s for security reasons.
