I'm ordering something online, but don't know what address to use. On the housing assignment, it gives me a 5-digit Campus PO Box number. Is that the same as the BU Box # we use in this format?:

Student's Name
Student's BU Box number (e.g., 8023)
4400 Vestal Parkway East
Binghamton, NY 13902

ie there can be two “box” numbers in the address – the students’ BU Box number (which is specific for the student), and the PO Box number for mail going to all students at the school (PO Box 6020). But you can only use PO Box 6020 for mail – ie USPS deliveries – any other carrier, you use 4400 Vestal Pkwy East instead.

Thanks. I saw all that on the website. My confusion comes from my “Confirmed Housing Assignment” telling me what building I’m in, the names of my roommates, the code to my mailbox and a 5-digit “Campus PO Box” number, nowhere is there a 4-digit BU Box Number. Are these the same numbers or do I not get the BU Box Number until I get to campus?

The campus box number and BU box number are the same. Most are four, but they are listed with a 0 beforehand, making them five. For example, 06XXX, is a CIW BU Box.

There is a sub-zip code associated with each community. CIW’s is 6006, so to mail me (not packages) my address would be:

Baxter Bearcat (your name)
BU Box 06XXX (or whatever the number listed for you is)
PO Box 6006 (or what ever community it is)
Binghamton University
Binghamton, NY, 13902

FOR PACKAGES: Replace the Community PO Box with “4400 Vestal Parkway E”

Also, this might be long (and I’m sure it could be shorter), but it does work and it is valid. If it says it, isn’t ignore the message (I know Amazon does this, but I’ve gotten my packages every time).
