What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Oh and which style would be good for which subjects? For example, would Tues/Thurs be better for English because there's not much learning, and its more about writing essays outside of class time?

Only the obvious: do you prefer class two days a week or three? Can you stay focused for 90 minutes?

Coming to think of it, I think I might prefer the shorter format for dense theoretical classes and the longer format for more superficial and discussion-based classes.

Not that the difference has ever guided my class choice. I will always opt for the better instructor.

90 minute classes can feel like forever. If you don’t like subject, and you have a choice, try to get an hour class.

Thank you both; I just decided to have Chem as my 90 minute lecture and everything else an hour

I prefer longer classes to minimize on transportation time. There is a tradeoff between being focused and minimizing that transfer time. If it’s a subject that you think will be interesting you’ll have an easier time focusing than you will in a subject you think is boring (given the instructors are each decent).

I don’t think I’ve ever had this choice. Most classes I’ve signed up for are 1.5, 2, or 3hrs. I think I’ve only had 1 class that was 1 hour, and that was the only option. But given the option I would choose the best professor like b@r!um said.
