Major BioC, Minor BNS?

Hey,

The course catalog prohibits double majors in a few related science fields, two of those being biochemistry and behavioral neuroscience.

It does not specifically prohibit a major in biochemistry and a minor in behavioral neuroscience.

Does anyone know if we’re allowed to have a minor in a closely related science, even though we can’t have a double major?

Thanks,
J

My gut instinct is that you can’t (for the same reason you can’t do a double major), but that’s a complete guess. I would send an email to your academic advisor (should be listed on the COS advising website.)

Update for anyone who has the same question:
Yes, a minor is possible. It’s just 5 upper level psych courses that I wouldn’t take as a biochemistry major. The BNS Major is very new and growing fast, and has some very awesome brand-new 5000-level classes on things like neurogenetics and fear.
