Can anyone give me some insight on the process of changing majors once at UCLA? specifically from Anthropology -> Chemistry (nonimpacted to nonimpacted).

is it doable? my choice on whether to attend UCLA (if i get accepted) is based on the practicality of this process.

“To change your major, you must contact the department whose program you want to attend. You will have an opportunity to do this at orientation. You should be aware, however, that not all departments permit advanced standing students to transfer into one of their majors.”

I believe the OP is talking about switching majors once admitted since they’re a TAP applicant.
From what I know and have been told, unimpacted->unimpacted switches normally go off without a hitch. Dunno about Chemistry though. If unable to switch you can always double-major.

I think they’ll allow it IF you completed your pre-reqs. I suggest you call the Chemistry dept and ask…if they don’t give you a straight answer ask someone else within the department.

yeah you have a chance since you want to go to a non impacted major however i am pretty sure you need to finish all of your pre reqs for that major (chemistry) at ur community college if u want to switch to that major once already accepted to ucla.
