I've decided to attend SCU, and have submitted my enrollment deposit and all. That said, I'm thinking of changing my major from biology to public health science. In terms of first year classes, this shouldn't make too much of a difference (there are only a few class differences between the two, largely in upper division courses), even if I have to wait to switch. As such, I was wondering, what is the change procedure and when can I do it?

Changing your major is quite simple, changing your school can be difficult.

Since you were admitted as a biology major, your school is the College of Arts and Sciences (A&S). Public health science is also in A&S, so you wouldn’t have to switch schools. In that case, the procedure is quite simple and requires just one form. I’ve never heard of a person having trouble doing that, especially if the majors are so closely related.

Now, if you were to change schools, it could be quite difficult. If you’re in Leavey or Engineering, it is also easy to switch into A&S. However, it is extremely difficult (or at least, it was as of one year ago) to get into Leavey if you’re already an admitted student. Not sure how difficult it is to get into Engineering post-admission.

But to answer your specific question in one word: easy.
