I love fashion, thinking to study fashion after high school, but dont know what path/major should i be. I love draw clothes, but hate sewing even i know how to sew.

On the other hand, my parent said that it is really difficult to get a job after fashion school, or they don't make good money.

So I am thinking to choose another major that I can make good money after graduation. Then do my own fashion line for part time.
1/. I speak Cambodian and Chinese fluently, so maybe internation business. BUT what job can i get after?
2/. I am good at math, so maybe major in chemistry, then go to an optometry school, then become an optometry since I used to work as an optician, and it makes a lot of money and quiet easy. BUT that would 8 years of college.

What do you guys think? I'd love to picture myself as a working-lady and also a woman that has her own clothing line in the future.

I don’t think there are many colleges that offer “fashion” majors, except for maybe a few specialized schools (for instance, [Launch a creative career with FIDM, from Fashion Design to Digital Media : About : FIDM](http://fidm.edu/) and [Parsons The New School for Design](Parsons School of Design | The New School)). Also, since your parents are correct in that it is difficult to get a job after fashion school, and since you hate sewing, fashion school would probably not be a good choice for you.

I suggest majoring in a non-fashion area. You don’t have to know exactly what you want to major in now, but it’s good that you have some ideas of other things you’d like to do. Then maybe minor in art, and/or try to do some internships or volunteer experience in the fashion industry. That way, you’ll get a better idea whether you want to seriously pursue fashion in the future, and if it doesn’t end up working out, you’ll have something else to fall back on.

Maybe consider a major that combines textiles + business (possibly a double major). This could include aspects of chemistry, business, and fashion/textiles.
