Major in Biology but possible minor in law?

I am transferring to Coastal Carolina University in August from a technical college. I wanted to do so to save money while I get the basic classes out of the way and I have been accepted.

The question is basically in the title, would a minor in law be worthwhile for someone going for a degree in Biology and later a masters in Microbiology?

Depends. What are your goals?

Mainly research is what I want to do.

Then generally no. A minor is law would be more useful if you wanted to be a legal consultant or something related. As a researcher, you won’t be very concerned with that.

If you want to go into research, a minor in law isn’t going to be particularly useful. Also, to advance in research and be in charge of your own research or have your own lab, you will need to get a PhD, not a masters

Yeah, a PhD Will be necessary for any research positions outside of a lab hand.

Even though - be aware of the less than ideal job prospects for PhDs in microbiology/related fields in academia.
