Say you're enrolled in one of the four schools at Penn. Are you able to double major or minor in a different school?
For example, if you were enrolled in the the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, but also wanted to pursue an interest in Spanish, could you double major or minor in Spanish?

Thanks!

If you’re in SEAS, you can do a double major within SEAS. If the other major you’re interested is inside another school (like CAS), then you can do it, but that counts as a Dual Degree, which means you’ll get a degree from SEAS (BSE or BAS) and a degree from CAS (a BA), each with its own major. To do this, you’ll also have to fulfill the requirements of both schools, SEAS and CAS. The only two majors in CAS for which you would not need to fulfill the College requirements are Mathematics and Biochemistry. This would result in you getting a single degree with two majors, instead of the dual degree.

With minors, yes, you can minor in something at a different school with no problem, so you could minor in Spanish if you’re in SEAS just by taking the required courses.
