<p>Don’t worry about minors, especially not at the beginning. Minors can be used to supplement skills or expand into an area that interests you, but it is not something you need to decide at the beginning (especially considering the fact that you often don’t even have to decide your major for a year). For example, my boyfriend just discovered he could get a computer science minor by filling up the free space in his schedule his last semester.
That said, you might consider math, physics, or minoring in CS if you opt for an engineering major. Then again, you could also go for something seemingly unrelated because it interests you.</p>

<p>Go on Youtube and the websites of the respective trade organisations for these fields and see what each actually entails after college. </p>
<p>Choose the major which shuts the least doors to the areas you think you might want to take further.</p>
<p>Unless a minor is required, the best minor is no minor. Freedom in your schedule is more valuable than you think.</p>
