<p>No. The exception is if you are applying to a specific major where you have to be accepted by BOTH the university and the department (eg. a 5 year architecture program).</p>
<p>I think that sometimes students don't put down "undecided" because they think it makes them appear too vague and directionless. That's just my off the cuff take on your question, no insider information ;).</p>
<p>oh. So say I apply to NYU as undecided, then Im automatically in the arts and sciences school. But then if I dcide I like business and change, Ill have to change completely to a differfent school?</p>
<p>Sorry, but I'm not familiar with NYU or business school. Looking at their website, it says that you do have to apply to just one school, so it does look like you'd have to change schools. You should post on the NYU forum and ask how hard it is to switch from A&S to Business and vice versa, since it seems like that would influence your application.</p>
