<p>Where do you put your choice of major on the common application for each university? Is it the academic interests and career interests on the future plans of each university? Are those interests the major you plan on taking at the university?</p>

<p>Also, does the choice of major affect the chances of acceptance at any university? I heard that picking an easy major could have a better chance of acceptance? Is this true, for at least Northwestern University or University of Chicago?</p>

<p>I’m pretty sure Chicago doesn’t even ask you for your intended major. I don’t think Chicago cares, although NU probably does.</p>

<p>And picking an easy major isn’t going to fool anyone if you don’t have the corresponding ECs for it. They’ll know what you’re trying to do.</p>
