Hi, I’m transferring into northeastern’s computer science and cognitive psychology program, but lately I’ve been thinking I might want to do combined CS and physics instead. The problem is I never took physics in highschool so I’m really only basing my interest on my own reading etc. Is it possible to take the standard Cs/cog intro with a physics course my first semester to see how I like it? Will I be to far in to switch after one semester? I’ll be a sophomore. Also if anyone has any insight into the mindset of a physics major and the difficulty of the program please let me know. Thanks!

Your best bet is to contact your advisor at Northeastern. They’ll be able to answer better than anyone here what the feasibility of that is. I think advisors are listed on your myNEU account somewhere, or search to find it.

Otherwise, you might try looking at the student blogs to see what their experience has been like. There are no physics majors there, but there is a CS combined with bioeng, which might be comparable. Those links are here:
