Majoring in business?

For those of you who are majoring in business, how did you show that you had an interest in business at the high school level?

Well I’ll be applying, and I’ve started two companies

You don’t really need to do anything business related per se. Just show that you have the ability to take initiative, create opportunities for yourself, and can work well in groups both as a leader and a peer (i.e. personal attributes useful for a career in business).

no interning, HS business classes, etc…? Well, starting 2 companies isn’t the norm. What else did you do?

Lots of leadership activities are super important.

Leadership in the Business World at the Wharton School is good too.

Starting companies, attending conferences related to business (entrepreneurial usually), creating a stock portfolio, starting your own clubs, being innovative (this can be shown by starting you own club), being the captain of something, doing lots of internships, writing about business (starting your own blog works nicely), etc.

Hope it helps!
