this question has probably been asked a lot, but i am wondering how people who major in social sciences and humanities do in med school admissions. many people have told me your major isnt that important as long as you do well in the classes required for med school, but i am wondering if majoring in something besides bio/chem hurts your chances at more selective med schools. the reason i ask is that i do like these subjects, but i would enjoy majoring in something else. right now i wanna major in psychology, which i have heard is common for pre-med, but what if i were to minor in something like philosophy? people say it doesnt matter rly if u major in bio/chem, but does your major matter more for top med schools.

I don’t believe that not majoring in biology/chemistry directly hurts your chances.
