Majoring

I have to choose which college I will be attending and I was wondering this about USC

Is it possible for me to double major in internaional business and pre-law, and if not can I double major in international business and finance and minor in like pre-law or atleast legal studies?

“Pre-law” is technically not a major.
“One of the best features of a pre-law education is that there are absolutely no specific course requirements you must take in college. A pre-law student, quite simply, is someone who defines him or herself as such.”

 • USC Pre-Professional Handbook

You should look at the Pre-Professional handbook, ([Handbook2 | Office of Pre-Professional Advising](<a href=“Office of Pre-Professional and Graduate Advising - Office of Pre-Professional and Graduate Advising | University of South Carolina”>Office of Pre-Professional and Graduate Advising - Office of Pre-Professional and Graduate Advising | University of South Carolina)), which offers some tips as to what courses at USC you should consider. One of the best tips they offer is “Do not try to learn the law as an undergraduate.” That’s what law school is for! Many of the courses that they recommend you to take will be general education requirements for business majors, or are part of the business curriculum.

Thanks! I figured something like that when I couldnt find a specific major or minor for legal studies as a undergrad. I will probably minor in art history then haha

thats a weird smilely, sorry

If you want to go to law school, major in whatever interests you and will allow you to have the best grades possible.

Law schools literally don’t care what you majored in as long as you have a high GPA and high LSAT scores. Certain majors (like English, history, political science, etc.) are well represented and prepare someone for law school, but you can major in anything. In fact, law schools really like diversity, so you will stand more out if you don’t major in a typical “pre-law” major.
