@“Georgia Girl” @blueskies2day Thanks for all the advice! I am a 3rd degree black belt in taekwondo and I instruct classes and have one many tournaments. Would usc consider this a negative extracurricular since it could be depicted as “violent?” I am scared as this is my main extracurricular and I have been doing it for 13 years.
Oh goodness no that would not be considered negative, that is an awesome EC, especially with your long term commitment to it. It’s also an achievement not many people can claim on their application. Being different is a good thing. Good luck!
AS you are a Jr, I suggest you take the SAT again at the end of this year to increase you scores in the other areas.
If you can get it above 2250 , and get all A’s this year, you will have a much better chance of acceptance at USC.
With another year of HS classes under your [ black] belt, the probability is that your reading and writing scores will go up . Your EC is great- USC is not going to see that as a negative any more than they would see Football as negative because it is “violent” .
