<p>As far as I know, indicating a major on your application will not affect admissions decisions at all. Once you're on campus, the department(s) that you showed an interest in might contact you to give you extra info on classes and programs, but that's about it. I don't know the exact stat, but I think more than half of the majors that people write down as pre-frosh turn out to be different than the major that they graduate with.</p>
