Majors for consultants

I'll be attending the University of Pittsburgh next fall, and I'm trying to determine which business major would be the most beneficial for consulting. The majors offered are accounting, business information systems, finance, global management, human resources management, marketing, and supply chain management.

IT, Accounting or Finance.

Based on the majors offered, my preference would be accounting or BIS, perhaps even a dual major. Regardless of your choice, your first year (and most of your second year) classes pretty much should be the same. That gives you time to decide. What I would do is get to the career fairs and speak with the entities offering consulting services. Get a feel with your coursework for what you like to do. The BIS puts you into IT consulting. The accounting degree IMO is little more flexible.

Another thought is that Pitt offers a double degree which will get you a BSBA and a BS from the School of Info Science.

Thanks so much!
