<p>My son graduated wi a business degree 1 1/2 yrs ago but now wants to follow his true passion in music performance. Are there any colleges that offer a degree in performance on elec bass? We visited Univ of the Arts in Phili which offers a 2 yr program for someone who already has a degree but I want to see what else is out there. He works full time so I am assisting him.</p>
<p>Why would he want a music performance degree as opposed to just studying the bass with a private teacher? Does he aspire to be a college professor in a School of Music? Otherwise, it’s not necessary to attend college in order to continue to develop his musical talents, and while a college degree is inherently a good idea, he already has one. Indeed, no employer other than a college School of Music will care if he has a degree in electric bass performance - they’ll just want to hear him play.</p>
<p>He should consider matriculating @ The School of Hard Rock(s). They’ve multiple campuses. For Christian bass, their programs are based in Grand Rapids, Colorado Springs. Country pickers = Nashville Soul = Motown Blue Bros. = Memphis (w/ a commuter campus in Tupelo) </p>
