Or very few of them. Basically I have a hard times with essays, not because I'm bad at them but with completing them and I'd rather spend most of my time on courses that require as few as possible. Science and Math are off limits but I'm open to anything besides that. What have been your experiences?

You do know that practice makes perfect right? The more of those essays you'll write the better you will become at writing them. IMHO, you should do something you enjoy instead of trying to limit yourself in such a big way because your major basically can't relate to math, science, english, history, or foreign language (they've got killer essays too). Also think about the horrible job placement nowadays. Do you really want to get such a limited major and then have to work extra hard to find a job. I don't know...it just doesn't make sense to me. I'm not very good at certain aspects of chemistry, but I still take the classes because I know the more I learn the easier it will all become.

On the other side, there's always beauty school or some other vocational type degree.

If you don't want a lot of math or a lot of writing you've basically eliminated everything. Something like business doesn't have too much advanced math, but will have a lot of number crunching with the occasional derivative or integral here or there. It will also have the occasional class with a fair amount of writing (management). However, it will not be like engineering where all you do is complex number crunching and will not be like english where all of your classes will be essay centric.

it's always worth it to become a good writer..

if you don't want science, math, or writing your options basically disappear because most (all?) non-science majors are qualitative.

Hmm... fashion design? Marketing? Art?

Uh... underwater basketweaving.

try a foreign language? you'll still have to write some essays in that language, but it's pretty elementary.

Foreign language essays are pretty elementary in the first two years. Once you are done with the grammar courses and start studying foreign literature, the essays are just as painful as English papers.

How about nursing? j/k

I second the vocational school comment. I don't believe there are any majors in a four year institution where you can avoid a writing component, math, science, etc.

Engineering =) After the first couple of years, no more math/science courses; just a whole lot of application.

Or...A dance major? A theatre major? A major in the humanities without essays is pretty hard to come by...
