Majors....

I'm having second thoughts about my major. Im applying to multiple UC's and a few Cal States. I chose psychology as my primary major and chemistry as my secondary major. I want to go to med school and become a psychiatrist, but now im thinking that a psychology major might not be the best route. It's also a heavily impacted major. Should i call the campuses and see if i can switch majors or will that look bad? Or should I wait to see if i get accepted and then try to switch majors?

Thanks.

Since you did put down a 1st and 2nd choice, if they do not admit you to Psych because it is impacted then they likely will consider you for Chem.

Students change their majors all the time. I don’t know the rules for changing majors at the UCs and CSUs so you might want to find out how binding either major is before you decide what to do.
